Elevate Your Spiritual Health: Honour and Expand Your Divine Essence
Welcome to the Vibrant Living with Nousha blog. I’m Nousha, super excited to be on this journey of learning, growth and healing with you. This blog is designed to inspire, educate and encourage you or someone you know to live a more vibrant, fulfilling life.
In the January 2017 blog I share the five pillars of optimum health and how we need to nourish, protect and renew each pillar so they can work harmoniously to create optimum health. Today, I’ll dive deeper into the pillar of our spiritual health and provide more awareness and understanding of your divine essence and how it can be a springboard to create a more vibrant, fulfilling life.
Honouring and expanding your divine essence is critical for designing, creating and sustaining a life you love. The truth is there are two energies that we don’t often learn about in our formative years that are important to nourish, protect and renew for our long term fulfillment.
Societal norms teach us about the physical expression of the masculine as a boy or a man and the physical expression of the feminine as a girl or a woman. The truth is, two powerful energetic forces reside in each of us; our divine feminine and our divine masculine. Regardless of our gender or sexual preferences these two energies reside in us all, active or dormant.
As you look through the list of qualities, what do you identify as your divine essence? Again, keep in mind that the feminine or masculine divine essence has nothing to do with whether you are a man or a woman rather it is important to note which energy is more developed within you. Take a moment and reflect on what you identify as your divine essence.
It is also useful to take a look back at the history of how we have evolved as a species and how we have utilized the masculine and feminine energies in each stage. Below is a brief overview of the 3 Stages of Evolution in Masculine/Feminine Consciousness as outlined in the book: “The One-Minute Goddess” by Jean-Pierre LeBlanc and Michele Hall.
Note: As you read about each ‘stage’ note that even today there are many relationships that are in each ‘stage’ and there is no right or wrong ‘stage’ to be in, rather it’s a preference and choice once we are aware of all our options.
Stage 1 - Dependence
This is the realm of the traditional relationship most common in the 1950’s where the masculine was the sole bread winner and the feminine was the one creating a nurturing space in the home. The masculine needed nurturance and the feminine needed safety and financial security. Each essence is dependent on the other to be “complete”.
Stage 2 - Independence
This is the realm that was born in the 1960’s when there was a role reversal between the ‘traditional’ male and female roles from Stage 1. Women began to take on more masculine qualities wearing the power suites with shoulder pads, going out into the world of work to create their own safety and financial security. This is also where the ‘Super Woman’ syndrome was born. At the same time, men began to grow their hair long (a feminine characteristic) become more nurturing, heart centred, less preoccupied with business and more focused on becoming stay at home Dad’s while their wives went to work. Even today, we can still see relationships between men and women that are in this dynamic.
Stage 3 - Interdependence
In this stage, both men and women start to have a well developed masculine and feminine essence within themselves. They are easily able to move through life utilizing each one as needed, depending on what the situation calls for. In this stage, the man and the woman don't necessarily ‘need’ one another since they are able to provide their own love, connection and nurturance (divine feminine qualities) and their own safety, financial security and direction (divine masculine qualities). The relationship then becomes one of interdependence where they appreciate one another’s energies and navigate through life together using the appropriate energy to match the circumstance. Each individual is able to embody vibrancy (divine feminine quality) and fulfillment (divine masculine quality).
Which of the three stages of relationship mentioned above are you in or were you recently in? Again, there is no right or wrong, only a preference. Today, for those that are called, we have an opportunity to move into the third stage where we are aware of these two energies within ourselves and not stuck in one of them rather using them interdependently depending on the situation to design, create and sustain a Vibrant, Fulfilling Life!
My invitation to you is to expand yourself and your divine essence, as you design and create your vibrant, fulfilling life in just 4 Steps:
Step 1 - Become aware of your dominant essence
Are you leading more with your feminine energy or your masculine energy in your day to day life?
Step 2 - Develop the energy that is less developed
By developing the energy that is less developed, you will expand your being to be more interdependent and whole.
Step 3 - Cultivate both your feminine and masculine essence
Cultivating both your feminine and masculine essence will expand your divine essence providing a spring board for living a Vibrant, Fulfilling Life. Being vibrant is a feminine quality while being fulfilled is a masculine quality; a ‘whole’ being ultimately cultivates and embodies both these qualities.
Step 4 - Watch how your intimate relationship shifts and becomes more vibrant and fulfilling
As you and your partner develop the essence that is not as strong, you both start to experience a more interdependent relationship where both partners can move into either their feminine or masculine essence as needed, based on the various circumstances that are presented in our lives. As a result, we enjoy a healthier more interdependent relationship; we are better equipped and able to handle anything life brings.
Understanding your divine essence is critical to creating a vibrant and fulfilling life for many years to come. To deepen your awareness and understanding on this topic I invite you to explore these three books which can be found on my website: www.noushabehbahanian.com under the resources section:
